German luxury watchmaker Glashütte Original ingenious, contemporary expressions of the manufactory in clearly contemporary new editions: The Senator's Panorama Date and Senator's Panorama Date Moonphase.
The Glashütte Original in-house-design-team has made a number of changes to the existing models. The bezel has been cut back for a lacquered silver-grain dial whose finely textured surface forms a sumptuous backdrop for deep black Roman numerals and a classic black railroad chapter ring. Glashütte Original compositing panorama date display is presented in black on an ivory ground matching the color of the dial, and new blued-steel "poire" shaped hands enhance the elegance of the new design.
Along with the superb new dial visuals, the Saxon Manufactory's in-house designers have made a number of more subtle but no less effective changes. The current version of this page is the same as the previous version. The new version replaces the button with a corrector in the case. The new timepieces are presented in a 40mm case with polished and brushed surfaces, either in red gold or stainless steel version, and the broader Louisiana alligator bracelet attaches in a traditional fashion. The red gold model is complemented by one in stainless steel.
The Senator Panorama Date is powered by the Saxon Manufactory's superb automatic Caliber 100-03, the Senator's Panorama Date Moonphase by the Caliber 100-04, both with a 55 hour power reserve. Easily admired by the generous sapphire crystal set in the caseback, the Caliber 100 features a screw balance with 18 weighted screws in gold, twin spring barrels, swan neck fine adjustment, skeletonized rotor with 21-carat oscillating weight, and the exquisite finishings Characteristic of the Glashütte, Saxony based watchmaker.
